Jonathan Hazan - Chief Executive
Jonathan joined Datix as a programmer in 1995. Since then, he has undertaken a wide variety of different roles, encompassing the full range of activities from the design of Datix products to assisting clients with rolling out Datix software as a key component of their patient safety strategy. Jonathan's work with clients as diverse as NHS trusts, Canadian health authorities and the US Department of Defense has given him a unique insight into patient safety initiatives around the world and continues to drive Datix's development as a global leader in patient safety software.
Jonathan holds a BSc in Computer Science from the University of Durham.
Daniel Cohen - International Medical Director
Dr. Cohen was formerly Chief Medical Officer and Executive Medical Director for the United States Department of Defense (DoD) health plan. Dr. Cohen was initially trained in paediatrics and haematology/oncology at the Boston Medical Center, Boston University, and the Boston Children’s Hospital, Dana Farber Cancer Institute, Harvard Medical School. He is a Senior Fellow of the Royal College of Paediatrics and Child Health and a Fellow of the American Academy of Pediatrics.
Dr. Cohen retains a faculty appointment in the Department of Pediatrics at the Uniformed Services University of the Health Sciences, F. Edward Hébert School of Medicine, Bethesda, Maryland, USA, where he once served as Dean for Student Development. He has also previously held appointments at the University of Cambridge School of Clinical Medicine, UK and the Eastern Virginia Medical School, Norfolk, Virginia, USA.
Dan Taylor - Sales & Marketing Director
Dan joined Datix as Sales & Marketing Director in February 2010. Prior to this he was Commercial Director at Medscreen, a provider of specialist laboratory services. In 2006 Medscreen was purchased by Concateno Plc, where Dan became Marketing Director until its acquisition by Inverness Medical in 2009.
Prior to this Dan held a range of senior sales and marketing roles for both public and private companies in the technology sector. He started his career as an Officer in the British Army. Dan holds a BA from York University and an MBA from Henley Management College.
Derek Colvin - Chief Technical Officer
Derek joined Datix as Chief Technical Officer in November 2009, running the operational support and strategic development teams. Derek has been working in IT since the mid 1990s. After leaving university in Glasgow, he started his career with ScottishTelecom (now THUS), moving on to work overseas with Andersen Consulting, Oracle, Compaq and EDS.
Since returning to the UK, Derek has held senior positions in organisations of varying sizes, from industry leaders such as Microsoft to innovative, market disruptive start-ups such as Glasses Direct and the Newspaper Licensing Agency. He is passionate about technology, and has a strong understanding of the business and consumer behavior that is driving technology adoption in healthcare.
Gavin Crick - Finance Director
Gavin is the Finance Director at Datix having joined the company in 2008. A Chartered Accountant, Gavin trained with KPMG, where he worked for ten years, followed by six years at Deloitte in the corporate recovery/restructuring team.
Following three years with corporate turnaround group Postern, Gavin has acted as a portfolio FD since 2001. During that time he has worked with many companies in varied sectors, often private equity backed, enhancing financial performance through operational improvement.
